This antique bottle auction website was originally conceptualized out of the frustration over more and more onerous rules being handed down from the main on line auction houses, the increasingly unreasonable auction fees and the ‘community breaking' policy implemented at the big online auction/sales venues. The road to reality started on The national on line forum in early 2008. As this antique auction website is going live, the people on the national forum are helping to make it a better resource. You can get to the national forum from the links pages at http://www.mrbottles.com/. Fees and more fees and no ability to see who is bidding or to leave feedback for someone who cheats you... REALLY??? Every time I go back to try again the major auction 
houses have made it harder and have imposed another rule in the name of squeezing more money out of my antique bottle sale. Like it or not I am NEVER sending a box of stuff in to be cataloged by someone else then put in a ‘point in time auction' at their bidding and to have it publicized via snail mail and spam... That was never an option for this bottle dude. I have been defacto banned from one on line auction house because I don't do pay pal. What is left? Rummage sales, bottle shows and hand shake sales - yes, they are great but hardly allow you to reach even the local market much less the national market. And while I love my antique collector friends, the best prices aren't always offered by the guy with no competition who has a good idea what you paid for your antique.
This antique auction site was conceived out of an absolute love for antique glass, antique art and all things old. This is an auction site by antique bottle collectors for antique collectors. We are real people who share your passion for antique glass and antique stoneware and antique art and just the incredible quality craftsmanship and artistic appeal humans put into every thing they did 100 plus years ago. A simple toy or utilitarian vessel made 150 years ago transcends its intended use, literally becoming a piece of art.
